The third item I recommend, we have used from the day our oldest was born. These are the pacifiers that were given to us in the hospital when my oldest was born. They served him well, til he turned 3. When my youngest didn't want to use a pacifier, and we were already living in Israel, a friend brought a few of these over, and he finally took a pacifier. This is what some people call- a pacifier for babies who do no want a pacifier.

Now I do not want to start a discussion over whether or not babies need pacifiers. I actually have one child who sucked his thumb since her was born, and we did not interfere with that. I am just sharing what worked for me and my family.

feeling, and what he might need. I read the original book The Baby Whisperer Solves All Your Problems: Sleeping, Feeding, and Behavior--Beyond the Basics from Infancy Through Toddlerhood. The original book has been updated with new insight and information and is now called Secrets of the Baby Whisperer: How to Calm, Connect, and Communicate with Your Baby. The update version is really a great read, just like the original. You can read a chapter, or read half the book. Each part has insight and information that was new to me, as a new mom. Shared without judgement, shaming or pressure to adhere to this specific way of thinking.
